As a write the required last 6th blog, the ferry is leaving Swartz Bay on the way to Twassassan (did I spell that right?). My heart is a little sad for as was spoken there are these lovely relationships that were formed and I may never see some of you again.

What have I learned? There is all the obvious, but one thing is for sure, I didn’t have all the knowledge that was required to write that first paper! I’ve never thought about my teaching philosophy, I just did what felt right. Now I know that according to how I view my teaching, it can directly effect the outcomes. So the challenge lies in determining  which of the philosophies closely suits my teaching! Lots of reading to do, maybe some mapping and all before the 23nd!!

I`ve truly enjoyed these last two weeks, I feel I now have the tools to see the world with a different lens and can hardly wait to put it into practice. (of course without showing off to my husband!)

OMG I have to go the  just they just announced there is a pod of killer whale swimming by!!!

What an eye opener today was! David Porter’s presentation was so informative.  Being not of a “Brent” efficeinado I had no idea there were so many avenues we could investigate on the internet. I’d also like to thank him for the info because he probably saved me hours of researching this stuff myself. Some of the topics he presented as well as the sights that he showed us, could also develop into research papers. I haven’t begun the process of “sticky notes in a folder” the way Judith suggested, but know with David Porter’s help I have a broader range to work from.

It truly was an inspirational day!

Now we’re talking!

Yeah finally something I can speak of. I do think Big Fish was a great movie to watch yesterday to demonstrate peoples realities and truths. Tim Burton is known for exaggerating the truths and questioning reality, but always with a very simple story line underneath! He then reinforces these skewed ideas with the script, production design, makeup and of course costumes.

What’s interesting about the film “Big Fish” the screenwriter (John August) paid for the rights to the novel and then went to (are you ready) Steven Spielberg to make the movie! Spielberg then in turn went to Jack Nicholson to play the part of Edward Bloom! Just imagine how different the stories would have been using Spielberg instead of Burton to direct this film and Nicholson instead of Finney. Would we have had our realities questioned the same way. I know that Spielberg has done some fantasy type movies in the past, but with an emphasis on the special effects rather then Burton’s approach of manipulating the genre to his odd perceptive.

I leave you with this YouTube video

I think what I’ve learned about myself in the last two weeks is that I don’t like to share my thoughts. Or do I not like to share my thoughts because I’ve been conditioned to do so? Sure I have ideas but the inner ones that actually might help me in this process!  I’ve also learned I like asking more questions then I do answering! But isn’t that why I’m here? there I go again with another question!

What I have learned, is that I have always considered myself a very pragmatic person (quantitative) but confronted with a situation/ dilemma have thought I have always used a qualitative approach! Which really would make research about myself very difficult!? So am I truly ENFJ?! or did I just not answer the questions right?

I know another…….?

Got to go there’s a moth in my room and it’s driving me crazy!
